Freezer Cooking Dinner Recipes
Even if youโre a diligent meal planner, we all have those nights when we just donโt want to cook. Instead of ordering pizza, keep some of your familyโs favorite freezer meals on hand at all times so you can have a low-effort dinner at the ready whenever you need it.
If you have the freezer space, casseroles usually freeze beautifully, but if you donโt have a dedicated freezer, store sloppy Joe filling or BBQ chicken in gallon freezer bags.

FAQs
What are the best ways to freeze food to keep it fresh?
Having an airtight container is your best option when it comes to freezing food. You have to keep the air out so that you keep the freshness in.
When I’m freezing baked goods, I’ll often wrap them in saran wrap or aluminum foil and THEN add the wrapped treat to a freezer-safe bag.
Can I store freshly baked goods in the freezer?
You can, but you need to be sure that you let any food that you’re going to freeze cool down all the way first. If you freeze food when it’s hot, it will release steam into the bag or container and make the food soggy.
How do you unthaw frozen foods?
It all just depends on the food. For breakfast foods and baked goods, I’ll just move them to the fridge and let them thaw that way.
There are some foods that can also be cooked from frozen that actually don’t even have to be thawed. Many casseroles are that way – and it’s great!
Storing unbaked foods means that you can then just follow along with the rest of the recipe and bake it until it’s cooked all the way through.
