Ingredients needed for this California Avocado Chicken
Ok…it looks like a lot – but stick with me here. I promise that it’s worth it! You probably already have a lot of these easy ingredients at home.
Ingredients needed:
- balsamic vinegar
- honey
- garlic, minced
- olive oil
- Italian seasoning
- salt
- pepper
- boneless skinless chicken breasts
- fresh mozzarella cheese
- avocados, sliced
- cherry tomatoes (halved)
- fresh chopped basil
- salt and pepper
- balsamic reduction vinegar
How To Make This California Chicken Recipe:
- In a Ziploc bag, add the balsamic vinegar, honey, garlic, olive oil, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken breasts and coat. Marinate for 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, heat oven to 350. Placed halved tomatoes on a baking sheet and drizzled with olive oil. Roast for 10 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Heat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the chicken on each side about 6 minutes or until cooked throughout and no longer pink.
- Top with mozzarella cheese, avocado, tomato, and basil. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar and serve immediately.
See, I told you – it’s really not that bad!

Try using a cooking thermometer to know exactly when it is fully cooked. The thickest part of the breast should be 165°F.
