This copycat Chick-Fil-A Chicken Salad sandwich will satisfy your craving for the classic sandwich that’s no longer served in restaurants! You can use homemade chicken or pick up a few grilled Chick-Fil-A chicken breasts for authentic flavor.

I have a great Chicken Salad recipe as well as a solid Chicken Salad Salad Sandwich that I make regularly. But nothing beats this Chick-Fil-A Chicken Salad Sandwich inspired by the beloved sandwich that was discontinued in 2017.
To make the most similar-tasting chicken salad sandwich, I recommend using original or grilled Chick-Fil-A chicken breasts. You may not be able to tell the difference from the original sandwich, it’s that good!

Chick-Fil-A Chicken Salad Sandwich Recipe
What made the Chick-Fil-A chicken salad sandwich so delicious? Was it the toasted wheat bread holding up a creamy, flavorful chicken salad? Was it the crisp slices of lettuce to balance out the hearty salad? Or was it the actual salad, rich with mayonnaise and packed with hard boiled eggs and sweet pickle relish? I would vote, all of the above!
If you miss the Chick-Fil-A chicken salad sandwich, I’ve got you covered with this recipe that’s as close to the original as possible. You can use homemade grilled or baked chicken breasts in the salad, or take the easy route with store-bought rotisserie chicken (or, of course, Chick-Fil-A chicken). I like to double the recipe and keep a container in the fridge for quick lunches throughout the week. (You can also serve the salad on lettuce for a lighter snack.) Whatever your method, this salad will surely satisfy!

In 1991 I worked at Chick-fil-a. I was pregnant with my first child and one of my cravings was their chicken salad sandwich on toasted wheat bread. Although I never made it in the store, I observed it being made. They ingredient that made it so very delicious was the chicken. They used the fried fillets which had the breading removed with a vegetable peeler. All of the ingredients were put in a food processor so the texture would be more of a spreadable consistency.
You can still get the original Chick-Fil-A chicken salad sandwich at the Dwarf House location in Hapeville, GA. And the Hawaiian version at Truett’s Luau in Fayetteville, GA.
