One of my go-to dessert recipes for every occasion, this pie features a perfect blend of peanut butter and chocolate for a recipe that is dreamy, creamy, and super smooth.

It also contains plenty of its namesake peanut butter cups scattered over the topping for extra sweetness and crunch. The finished result is a recipe that looks gourmet but is super easy to make!

Reese’s Peanut Butter Pie Recipe

Is chocolate and peanut butter the best flavor combination in the entire world? It’s right up there with mint and chocolate, banana and chocolate, coconut and lemon – well, you get the idea. This Reese’s peanut butter pie is loaded with lots of sweet, creamy peanut butter that’s spread on a crisp chocolate crust. It’s topped with a rich chocolate ganache and finished with whipped topping and crushed Reese’s peanut butter cups. What could be better?

Plus, this pie is super easy to make, because you don’t have to make your own pie crust or whipped topping (Instead, we rely on grocery store staples to help make this quickly). The other ingredients you’ll need, including cream cheese and peanut butter, chocolate chips, heavy cream, and powdered sugar, you may already have in your pantry and fridge.

I love this pie because it feels like a giant Reese’s peanut butter cup – every bite is filled with delicious peanut butter, chocolate, and soft whipped cream! It’s a fun dessert to serve at Halloween to go along with the candy theme of the holiday, but it’s perfect for any occasion and it guaranteed to be a hit!

How to Make Reese’s Peanut Butter Pie

  1. Make the filling: Using a stand mixer or handheld mixer, beat the cream cheese, peanut butter, powdered sugar, and salt until creamy and well blended. Spread the mixture into the bottom of a prepared chocolate pie crust, smoothing it evenly into the edges with a spatula. Chill in the fridge while preparing the ganache.
  2. Make the ganache: To make the ganache, add the chocolate chips to a glass or other heat-safe bowl. Heat the heavy cream in a small pot over low heat until just below simmering. Pour over the chocolate chips. Let the ingredients sit for 1 to 2 minutes. Then, stir the mixture with a rubber spatula until smooth. Let cool until room temperature before spreading the ganache gently over the prepared peanut butter filling. Chill for 20 minutes or until set.
  3. Assemble the pie: Once the ganache has set completely, spread the top of the pie with the whipped topping, and sprinkle the chopped peanut butter cups on top. Chill in the fridge until ready to serve.

Quick Tip

Bring the cream cheese to room temperature before combining it with the peanut butter, and sift the powdered sugar. Both of these steps will eliminate any lumps in the filling!

How to Store Reese’s Peanut Butter Pie

Store leftover Reese’s peanut butter pie tightly covered in the fridge for up to 5 days. Serve cold. I do not recommend freezing this dessert as it’s likely to become soggy.
