This No-Bake Oreo Dessert is a quick and easy no-bake dessert you're gonna love!  This chocolate dessert is made up of pudding, cream cheese, cool whip, and Oreos, of course.

Ingredients

See the recipe card below this post for ingredient quantities and full instructions.

  • Oreos
  • Butter
  • Cream cheese – softened.
  • Instant vanilla instant pudding – do not make the pudding AND use the milk below. Only add the 3 cups in these directions.
  • Cool Whip
  • Milk – Some people have had trouble with this setting up – I have not. I’ve used skim, 2% and whole milk. I believe that WHOLE MILK is best.
  • Sugar

How-To Make Oreo Dessert:

1. Crush Oreos: In a 9×13 pan crush the Oreos, saving a few for topping later. Pour melted butter over crushed Oreos.

2. Mix: In a large bowl, mix together with a mixer – instant pudding & milk until thickened. Then add the cream cheese and sugar – mix well.

3. Add Cool Whip: Fold Cool Whip into the pudding mixture and spread over Oreos.

4. Add Topping And Chill: Sprinkle remaining crushed Oreos on top. Chill for 2-3 hours before serving.

Tips for Success

  • I made this batch with Double Stuffed Oreos, but you could really use any flavor of Oreo you’d like, along with changing up the pudding used, as well! Next time, I’m going with Mint Oreos!
  • Do NOT follow the directions on the box of pudding and add in the milk from the box. Only add in the milk from the recipe below.
  • Be sure to chill for several hours before eating. While it’s delicious as soon as it’s made, it’s even better when it has time to sit.

I used whole milk but although it was good did not firm up like pic. Will reduce to maybe two cups.

    1. You know, maybe that’s it. I’ve made this several times, just like the recipe states above but, I’ve used skim milk or 2%. I wonder if that makes the difference in setting up?

      1. Evelyn C Bay says:

I find in puddings and cheese sauces most of the time, u need the fat in milk to thicken it so even tho I rarely buy whole milk, for these recipes I don’t take chances!

  2. Im sad.. I tried to make this and put extra milk in cause you didn’t specify that the milk was adding the milk in that you were suppose to put in it for the pudding;(

    1. OH – do you mean you followed the package directions PLUS put in the milk I mentioned? Yes, that would be way too much! Sorry about that!

      1. My mixture was lumpy b/c I put the milk in before I creamed all the other ingredients. I didn’t know what to do, so I put a little more pudding mix in it hopefully it will be ok. Haven’t tried it yet. I put it in the freezer.

      2. Hmmm…ok. I usually follow this recipe just like written. Try it that way!

  3. Laura @ GotChocolate says:

I think I just gained 2 lbs. Man, that looks SO good!!!

  4. beka holman says:

This recipe really needs only 1.5 c. milk, it was super runny with 3 cups, and didn’t set in the refrigerator. Tastes good, just too much milk.

    1. Hmmm…that’s odd! it’s always worth experimenting!

    2. Evelyn C Bay says:

Just made and good but yes, did not set up like pic. Next time I will reduce the milk, too.

  19. Henrietta says:

This looks so good and easy too! I might make this for my family reunion this weekend! I know everyone would love it, thanks for sharing!

    1. Wow! I have no idea why it wouldn’t work if you added both the puddings and kept the rest the same. I just made it and it was perfect. I used whole milk – did you? I know skin is watery and even the pudding package says it’s not recommended. Just a thought! So sorry it didn’t work for you!

      1. So cool

      2. That is sooooooooo good ? ☺️???????

      3. Looks great can you use almond milk or soy ?

      4. I’m not sure it will set up right. Maybe try it by just making pudding with it first and seeing how it will do. Then if it works, make the whole dessert. 🙂

      5. I have tried almond milk and it wont set.

I just made this a followed the directions using a small pkg. of instant pudding. I just cut the milk to 2 1/2 Cups. It was runny and never did set. I used 2% milk. Made many different recipes like this before and never had a problem using 2% milk. By the amount of comments I’ve read of people having the same problem, I think the amounts listed is incorrect. Maybe the large pkg of pudding or just less milk might make it work.

I made this tonight and I read a lot of your comments before making it. I followed the directions but I used a small box of pudding and 1 cup of 2% milk and I’m 99.9% sure it worked. I checked it after an hour of chilling and it was firm. I’m excited to try it tomorrow.

      8. 5 stars
Ok as I posted before I made this with a small box of pudding and 1 cup of 2% milk and I kept everything else the same. It worked! Turned out perfectly and everyone loved it! There was none left.

    2. Victoria DeMaio says:

      Did you use INSTANT pudding?
The kind you cook would not work with this recipe.
Try it again, it’s worth it!
