A bowl of chocolate chip cookie dough dip.

I love a good homemade chocolate chip cookie recipe. However, if I’m being honest my favorite part is the cookie dough. There’s just something so irresistible about the soft texture and sweet chocolate chips.

Unfortunately, regular cookie dough isn’t exactly safe to eat. But did you know you can make egg-free cookie dough dip instead? You read that right!

This chocolate chip cookie dough dip tastes just like cookie dough. Made with cream cheese, brown sugar, butter, and chocolate chips, it’s free from raw eggs and flour. That means you can enjoy bite after bite worry-free. Score!

The best part? With no baking required, this dip comes together in about 5 minutes. It’s so delicious and easy that you may never go back to baking cookies again!

Recipe Ingredients

To print: see recipe card below

  • 1 (8 ounce) block cream cheese – This creates a tangy flavor and a smooth, dippable consistency. Make sure to use block-style cream cheese, not cream cheese from a tub! For the best taste and texture, use full-fat cream cheese.
  • 1/4 cup butter – I recommend using unsalted butter, but you can use salted butter if that’s all you have. Just omit the extra salt.
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar – Do not substitute granulated sugar, or your sweet dip will become grainy!
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Kosher salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips – Mini chocolate chips ensure you get plenty of chocolate in every bite. I like to use semi-sweet varieties, but milk or dark chocolate will also work.

Variations

  • Fold chopped nuts like walnuts or almonds into the dip for a bit of crunch.
  • Add toffee bits for a different flavor.
  • Fold pretzel pieces into the dip for a sweet and salty taste.
  1. Beat: Add the cream cheese and butter to a large bowl. Then, use a hand mixer or stand mixer to beat the ingredients until fluffy.
  2. Mix: Add the salt, brown sugar, and powdered sugar, and gently mix until smooth.
  3. Add the remaining ingredients: Stir in the vanilla. Then, fold in the chocolate chips until well combined. Save a few for sprinkling on top, too!

Serving Suggestions

I’m guilty of digging into this dip with nothing but a spoon. It’s just that good! However, it’s also great with dippers like:

  • Graham Crackers
  • Pretzels
  • Cookies
  • Strawberries

How to Store

You can store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. I don’t recommend freezing this recipe.

Quick Tip

Let the ingredients sit at room temperature to soften before you begin. This makes the dip easy to mix, ensuring the ingredients combine completely for a cohesive taste!
