This is one of those easy cake recipes that make the perfect dump cake. Not only does my family give it rave reviews, but you’re just going to love that pineapple flavor and taste!
This delicious dessert makes the perfect pineapple cherry dump cake recipe that is just screaming for a few scoops of vanilla ice cream! I like to add maraschino cherries to the top but that’s just because I’m all about sweetening up the whole thing any chance I can get!

How To Make Dump Cake
Making a dump cake is THE EASIEST cake recipe around. Just dump, bake and eat! Just follow the steps below!
Step 1: Add the fruit
Dump 2 cans of fruit into the bottom of a 9×13 pan. I’m sharing the cherry pineapple version today but you can use whatever flavor you like!
Step 2: Add the cake mix
Dump the cake mix on top of the fruit and spread it around lightly.
Step 3: Add the butter
Slice butter thinly and evenly spaced over the top of the cake mixture.
Step 4: Bake
Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 5: Add toppings
Top with ice cream or whipped cream if you like. Enjoy warm! Or cool!
Variations
You can treat your sweet tooth easily with this great recipe because it’s really versatile. You can change up the cake mix and use a white cake mix, yellow cake mix, or any other type of dry cake mix for this delicious dessert recipe.

Cherry Pineapple Dump Cake
Ingredients
- 1 21 oz Cherry Pie Filling
- 1 20 oz Crushed Pineapple with juice
- 1 Yellow Cake Mix – dry
- 1/2 cup Butter 1 stick
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350
- Grease a 9×13 pan
- Add Cherry Pie Filling and Pineapples to the baking dish
- Sprinkle cake mix over the fruit filling evenly
- Slice butter and add to top of cake mixture
- Bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes or until slightly brown
- Allow to cool slightly
- Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream

I used fresh just pitted cherries 3 1/2 C & 8 oz crushed pineapple in natural juice in 11X13 glass. Butter flavored pam to coat. 10X sugar & cream for frosting.
Lasted a whole 10 minutes, it was devoured!!🥳
