I have been publishing easy family recipes here since 2009, and pancakes have piled up along the way. There are 27 pancake recipes on All Things Mamma now, so this is all of them in one place — everyday stacks, fruit, the dessert-style ones, and a few you can make ahead.
If you are not sure where to start, my Fluffy Homemade Pancakes are the most commented-on recipe in the bunch, and the Buttermilk Pancakes are the classic version. For a crowd, skip the griddle entirely and bake Sheet Pan Pancakes.

A Note From Kasey

I grew up watching pancakes bubble on the griddle, and weekends around here are still made for breakfast. That is how one from-scratch pancake recipe slowly turned into twenty-seven of them.
My Fluffy Homemade Pancakes have been on All Things Mamma since 2016, and there are more than 100 comments on that one recipe now — more than any other pancake recipe here. Every time somebody asked for a different version, another one got added: buttermilk, pumpkin, stuffed with Nutella, baked on a sheet pan so nobody has to stand at the stove. This is all of them, in one place, finally.
- ✅ Start here if you are new: the Fluffy Homemade Pancakes and the Buttermilk Pancakes are the two worth learning first. Everything else is a variation on them.
- ✅ Always make extra. Pancakes freeze beautifully — pop the leftovers in the freezer, then pull one out and microwave it on a busy school morning.
- ✅ Cooking for a houseful? Sheet Pan Pancakes and the Overnight Pancake Casserole both skip the griddle, so you are sitting down and eating with everyone else instead of flipping.
Everyday Pancakes
The stacks to make when you just want good pancakes — nothing fancy, nothing to shop for.
1. Fluffy Homemade Pancakes
Made from scratch with flour, baking powder, milk and an egg, these come out light, tall and golden in about 20 minutes. If you only keep one pancake recipe, keep this one.

2. The Best Homemade Buttermilk Pancakes
Buttermilk is what makes these soft, rich and tangy, and the ingredient list still stays short.

3. Bisquick Pancakes
The fastest route to fluffy and golden. No measuring flour, no extras, no fuss.

4. Cracker Barrel Pancakes
A copycat of the buttery restaurant stack, with just seven ingredients.

5. Fluffy Overnight Pancakes
A yeast batter that you mix the night before and cook in the morning, so breakfast is nearly done before you start.

Kasey’s Tips for Better Pancakes
- Don’t overmix. Stir just until combined — a few lumps are perfect. Overmixing develops the gluten and makes pancakes tough and flat.
- Rest the batter 5 to 10 minutes. This lets the baking powder activate and the flour hydrate, so the pancakes rise taller and the batter does not spread thin in the pan.
- Use fresh baking powder. Old baking powder is the number one reason pancakes turn out flat.
- Cook over medium, not high. You want golden, not scorched, with enough time for the centers to set.
- Don’t press down with the spatula. Flattening them squashes out all the fluff you just worked for.
- Keep them warm. Hold cooked pancakes in a 200°F oven while you finish the rest, so everyone eats at the same time.
Pancake Basics and Pancake Mix Ideas
