Variations

- Fold chopped nuts like almonds, walnuts, or pecans into the batter for a little extra crunch.
- Add up to a cup of chocolate chips for an even bolder chocolate flavor.
- Use a gluten-free brownie mix and 1:1 all-purpose gluten-free flour to keep this recipe gluten-free.

Directions for How to Make Cream Cheese Brownies with Box Mix
- Prepare: Before you begin, preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Then, grease a 13×9 baking dish with cooking spray, and set it aside.
- Make the brownie mix: Prepare the brownie mix according to the package instructions. Then, transfer it to the prepared pan, spreading it out smoothly.
- Create the cheesecake layer: Use an electric mixer to blend the butter, softened cream cheese, and sugar until smooth. Then, add the eggs, vanilla, and flour, and mix just until smooth.
- Swirl: Dollop the cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter. Then, use a knife to swirl it around, creating a marbled effect.
- Bake: Transfer the cheesecake brownies to the oven, and bake until they’re set and slightly brown on top. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean or with just a few moist crumbs!
- Serve: Score the tops of the brownies while they’re hot. Then, let them cool completely in the pan before slicing, and enjoy!
Serving Suggestions
These cheesecake-swirled brownies are plenty decadent on their own. However, they’re also great topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream! Feel free to add a drizzle of caramel sauce or chocolate sauce, too.

How to Store + Freeze
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week.
- Freeze the brownies for up to three months. Place a piece of parchment paper between each layer to prevent them from clumping together!
- Thaw the brownies in the fridge overnight. Enjoy cold, set them out to come to room temperature, or warm them up for a few seconds in the microwave.
Quick Tip
If you prefer thicker brownies, use a 9×9 pan, and adjust the cooking time as needed!

These Cream Cheese Brownies are the ultimate easy-to-make indulgence.
Hi! I just happened to make brownies (Ghiradelli) today because I usually made black bottoms and wanted something easier. So I used the regular cream cheese recipe that I use for regular black bottoms. But, the brownie mix was so thick I could barely bet it out of the bowl. And, the mix said to use an 8 x 8 pan. Bake for 40 minutes. I put chocolate chips in my cream cheese batter. Al said…..they did not bake out; they were not done after 50 minutes and I threw them out. Can someone please tell me what I did wrong? What name of brownie mix did you use? Thanx for any help. Nikki
