YOU MAY BE THINKING ‘WAIT-WAIT-WAIT…SPRITE?!’

You read that right! Here’s why: The Sprite acts as a leavening agent, that makes your biscuit dough rise. The carbonation bubbles from the Sprite react with the baking soda in the Bisquick, and poof! You’ve got these fluffy, little bites of heaven! (Check out my 7UP Biscuits too!)

SOUR CREAM YOU SAY?’

Yup! It has a secret superpower: Sour Cream adds moisture, creaminess and controls browning when your dough is baking in the oven. It’s a great ingredient to use in biscuits or cakes. I prefer it! In fact, it’s one of my 10 Tricks To Make A Box Cake Mix Taste Homemade !

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

2. Add the ingredients

In a medium-sized bowl, stir together Bisquick, Sprite, and sour cream until just combined.

5. Cut the biscuits

Cut the biscuits out with a biscuit cutter or the top of a small jar and place them in the pan of butter.

We made these today at our Memory Care. Our residents and families LOVED THEM!!! They were so easy i divided the recipe and put it into sandwich baggies so the residents could knead their own biscuits it was great to see their smiles and listen to them talk about when they used to make biscuits at home. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Can I make these the day before?

    1. Shyanne - ATM Team says:

We recommend baking them completely and keeping them stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days!

  5. 5 stars
I made it and love how soft inside with crust outside. Make sure melted butter in glass dish. It won’t stick to bottom of dish and flavors biscuits. Does not have sour cream taste.

    1. Shyanne - ATM Team says:

Thank you for the feedback, Kathy! We’re so glad you enjoyed it!

    2. These sound amazing. I have a back injury and I can’t stand too long. The recipe sounds perfect and easy to do. We love biscuits and sausage gravy anytime. One favorite meal is having breakfast for supper. Thanks for sharing this recipe. **

  6. Will they turn out if baking them on a cookie sheet, if so for how long to bake?

    1. Shyanne - ATM Team says:

Hi CJ! You can bake them on a cookie sheet as long as you arrange them closely so they’re all touching.

  7. Janet Sanford says:

Is the butter salted or non- salted?

    1. Shyanne - ATM Team says:

Either would work for this recipe, depending on your preference!

  8. Brandy Reese says:

This was so easy to make and my family loved them.

    1. Shyanne - ATM Team says:

That should work just fine, Tiennia!

  11. These are really good but mine are crumbly any suggestions on how to fix?

    1. Shyanne - ATM Team says:

Use the extra Bisquick sparingly when kneading, avoid overworking the dough, and measure carefully – with a food scale, if possible!

  12. Nancy Offermann says:

Will this work with gluten free Bisquick?

    1. Shyanne - ATM Team says:

We haven’t tested it, but it should work!

    2. Kelsey Miranda says:

      I’m trying it tonight!

    3. Sarah Frenzel says:

Hmm, I do t think it will. I tried to make sausage balls with the GF mix. It 100% did not work! I’d search for a recipe that uses the gluten free mix. 😬

    1. Sherry Roche says:

      5 stars
The biscuits were very sticky but, I added more Bisquick and they turned out great!

  15. Janet V Ross says:

I have used this recipe for making garlic cheddar biscuits. I add 1 tsp (more or less) of garlic powder to the Bisquick. Stir with a fork to combine. Add 1 cup (more or less) mild cheddar or colby cheese shredded from the block Proceed per recipe. May need a splash or two of sour cream to make it workable

  16. 5 stars
I only have diet Mt. Dew! Will that work? Anybody??

    1. Kasey Schwartz says:

You can try it! I have not.

      1. Yes, I make them with zero sugar sprite! They are great!

  17. Michol Sue says:

I’m going to try these. Sounds interesting. I d like to share another quick easy biscuit recipe which is also from the south shared with me by my South Carolina sister. 3 ingredients.
    1 cup self rising flour
    2 tablespoons of regular mayonnaise
    1 cup of water.
Stir together and drop onto ungreased cookie sheet @ 450° for about 8 minutes. They are very light in color. Tips are just slightly beginning to brown, bottom will have more color. Fluffy and delicious with sausage gravy or just butter/jam. Try them and let me know what you think. 😋

    1. I added more flour to bring them to the consistency I needed to roll out. Little less water too. Melted 2 T butter in pan and coated biscuits as I placed in pan. Baked 12 minutes @ 425 in my toaster oven!? Perfect! Served with bacon gravy 😋 This is a keeper! Thanks for sharing 🤗

      1. Shyanne - ATM Team says:

Thank you, Michele! We’re so glad you were able to make it work and enjoyed it!

  18. Pat Greenup says:

    5 stars
Delish! So light and fluffy! Best biscuits I’ve ever made!

  19. Cindy Reese says:

    2 stars
I don’t know what I did wrong but the dough was like cake mix. I added bisquick to try and thicken it up but it didn’t help. I put them on a cookie sheet and hopefully they taste good. Your recipe might be sticky but cake dough! I used over a 1/2 box of Bisquick.

    1. Try again and be sure to double check the instructions. The butter does not go in the mix. The bisquits are really good.

  20. Can you use sugar free Sprite?

    1. Beachcomber says:

      5 stars
Delicious!! Light and fluffy and tasty 😋 Perfect! I used ginger ale bc I didn’t have Sprite.
