YOU MAY BE THINKING ‘WAIT-WAIT-WAIT…SPRITE?!’

You read that right! Here’s why: The Sprite acts as a leavening agent, that makes your biscuit dough rise. The carbonation bubbles from the Sprite react with the baking soda in the Bisquick, and poof! You’ve got these fluffy, little bites of heaven! (Check out my 7UP Biscuits too!)

SOUR CREAM YOU SAY?’

Yup! It has a secret superpower: Sour Cream adds moisture, creaminess and controls browning when your dough is baking in the oven. It’s a great ingredient to use in biscuits or cakes. I prefer it! In fact, it’s one of my 10 Tricks To Make A Box Cake Mix Taste Homemade !

Bisquick Biscuits Ingredients

  • Bisquick – You can’t go wrong with making these 3 ingredient biscuits with this main ingredient (you can also make your own Bisquick with my easy recipe!)
  • Sprite – Yes, you read that right. Sprite will make these homemade biscuits light and fluffy.
  • Sour Cream – Sour cream gives the biscuits flavor plus adds in fat.

How to Make 3-Ingredient Biscuits

1. Preheat the oven

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

2. Add the ingredients

In a medium-sized bowl, stir together Bisquick, Sprite, and sour cream until just combined.

5. Cut the biscuits

Cut the biscuits out with a biscuit cutter or the top of a small jar and place them in the pan of butter.

I love the flavor of these biscuits but mine are always extremely sticky… Do you have your sour cream and Sprite at room temperature or right out of the frig?

      2. Bobby Martin says:

Can you substitute sour cream with something else

      3. I would like to know the same thing. No one in our family likes the taste of sour cream.

    2. Rosemary Naerbo says:

Made these biscuits today. Didn’t have sprite or 7up on hand, so I used Diet Mt. Dew. Turned out great! So easy to make and my family loved them.

    1. Love that substitution! Glad you enjoyed them 🙂

  7. Can you cook these in something other than a cast iron pan? I don’t have one. They look fun and easy. Thanks.

    1. A stainless steel pan would also do the trick!

  8. 5 stars
So yummy! I don’t need any other biscuit recipe! Thank you!

    1. Music to my ears! Thank you so much!

These were excellent. Very easy. I had to use dairy free sour cream and a margarine and they were still good. I can’t wait until my son (who is allergic to milk and eggs) tries them. I added a teaspoon or a bit less of baking soda because someone mentioned in comments that they didn’t rise very much. They didn’t but for the simplicity of recipe – these were delish. I will not be buying can biscuits nearly as much if at all. Thank you.

  10. 5 stars

    super easy..

I will NEVER buy Pillsury biscuits again! I don’t care that I just ingested a pound of butter and biscuits they are SO amazing I’m making another batch! Thank you!

  13. Laxmi Tummala says:

Amazingly good. Slightly crunchy on the bottom and top but fluffy and soft in the center. Will definitely be making these again and again and again.

    1. YAY! You just reminded me that I need to make these this week. They’re perfect with my Chicken Pot Pie! 🙂

  14. Why? Why is there always somebody who wants to be a jerk?
The supposedly “FORTH” ingredient butter, that you melt in the pan is not considered an ingredient. When baking a cake, grease and flour to keep the cake from sticking are also not considered ingredients.

This looks great sugar, Can’t wait to try it.

    1. Mary Jane says:

There’s one in every crowd. They are proud to be able to count to four. LOL

  15. Can you use Sprite Zero?

    1. Sure! That should work but I’ve never tried it! Let me know if you do!

  16. Can you substitute seltzer for the Sprite, or club soda?

  17. Marilyn G. says:

Oooh my gosh! These are delicious and easy. After you have mixed it and turn it out onto additional Bisquick, dont be afraid to add more Bisquick. They are very sticky. Delicious!

This recipe is the best ever in making home made biscuits and believe you me I’ve tried a lot of recipes and this is hands down the simplest most convenient recipe I have ever tried and it came out perfect the very first time. First i turned oven on to 450. Put butter in 10″ or 12″ inch cast iron skillet or pan and melt butter in it before putting biscuits in pan.
    2 cup Bisquick,
    1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup sprite or 7up, [I used Sprite]
4 Tbs. butter or 1/2 stick butter
Useing medium size mixing bowl add Bisquick, make a hole in center of flour and add sour cream, start gently with a wooden spoon or your fingers smashing down or folding in Bisquick into sour cream by bring flour mix from outer side into sour cream and adding Sprite a little at a time. The mix will be a little wet and sticky but that’s normal. Just don’t over work the dough. Next to keep it simple I formed dough into a ball with the back of my wooden spoon and added 1 or 2 table spoons of Biquick around dough. Then with clean hands that are still damp I floured them with flour. Pinch off a nice size piece of dough that would fit in the palm of your hand and roll into flour mix along side of bowl coating all sides, then gently in the palm of your hand roll into a ball and place in pan your using, keep repeating process, pinch off dough; roll in flour; roll gently in hand; set in pan. Once all biscuits in skillet or pan then place in hot oven and cook for 12 to 15 minutes. Enjoy, Yummmm!

    1. WOW! That’s great!! So happy you enjoyed them! Thanks for sharing with me!

      1. AWESOME!!!!
I used to make them like my great grandmother & grandmother & my mother. Flour, crisco, buttermilk, eggs, softened butter & salt in the dough bowl ( made by my great grandfather), after kneading, the piched dough was shaped into biscuits & floured. I used a metal pie pan & baked. This ritual was reminiscent of many observations .
Your recipe was awey & soo easy.
        Thank you for your recipe.

      2. 5 stars
        Awesome. Oops the typo.

      3. Can you make with light Bisquick

Just made these this morning, they are great! It took a little while to get them the right consistency, had to add more Bisquick, (almost a 1/2 cup). Is there any way that I can make them rise a bit more?

    Thanks for sharing.
