Tips + Tricks

  • Use ripe and spotty bananas to achieve a sweet, creamy, and bold banana flavor in this no churn ice cream! It’s also important to fold the whipped cream very gently into the cream cheese mixture to make light and airy ice cream.
  • Use a vanilla pudding mix and banana food flavoring or extra mashed bananas, if you can’t source banana pudding mix.
  • Mascarpone cheese is a good alternative to cream cheese, although it will offer a slightly different flavor.
  • Graham crackers can be used instead of the vanilla wafers.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

Nothing beats homemade ice cream! Unfortunately, traditional versions can be pretty time-consuming, but not this recipe! It comes together with just a handful of ingredients and absolutely no churning required.

All you have to do is mix and freeze. The only hard part is waiting for it to chill! It’s completely worth the wait, though. Every bite is rich and creamy and tastes just like classic layered banana pudding.

Plus, it’s easy to make a large batch to keep on hand to satisfy your sweet tooth whenever a craving strikes. You may never go back to store-bought ice cream again!

How To Store and Freeze

Once assembled, allow the ice cream to chill and harden in the freezer for at least 4 hours so that it’s easy to scoop. Then, transfer leftovers to an airtight container, and store your ice cream in the freezer for up to 2 weeks. Allow it to soften slightly for a few minutes at room temperature before serving.
