Hand sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer gel have taken the place of soap and water for so many people. It’s too easy to grab a $1 bottle at the store, throw in your bag and pull it out every time you need to wash up.

But, hand sanitizers can do more harm than good by killing off the good bacteria on your hands and not really getting rid of the grime and yuk on your hands. So, soap and water is always your best bet!

The best way to get your hands clean is to make sure you’re washing your hands thoroughly – about 24 seconds- or as long as it takes you to sing “Happy Birthday” twice. Easy enough!

But, what do you do if you can’t get to soap and water? Leave your hands all yucky? No way! None of us are going to do that – so having something on hand to kill germs is better than nothing.

That’s why hand sanitizing products are so popular! Instead of reaching for the alcohol and chemical-laden bottles from the store – chose a more natural and healthy, make at home option!

Once you learn how to make hand sanitizer without alcohol, you’re going to love how simple and easy this natural sanitizer is! It’s simple ingredients that are made to help to be kind and gentle to your hands.

How to Make DIY All-Natural Hand Sanitizer

My favorite essential oil is the base of my hand sanitizer. Young Living’s Thieves or Purification is my oil of choice for this recipe – but any purifying oil would do! (melaleuca, tea tree oil, etc..)

All you need for this DIY Hand Sanitizer is:

You should be able to find the ingredients at any health food store, Amazon or even Target. I like to buy extras of the ingredients in sanitizer so that I have them on hand all the time.

Also, you should be able to make this recipe several times before having to buy more! Very economical! Being able to make your own sanitizer is a great way to save money, too!
