Ingredient Notes

Ingredients for cheeseburger pie, including ground beef, bisquick, cheese, eggs, milk, onion.

See recipe card below this post for ingredient quantities and full instructions.

  • Lean ground beef – You can use ground turkey if you prefer or even a plant-based ground beef instead to make this vegetarian.
  • Onion – Just a regular yellow onion will do!
  • Cheddar cheese – Sharp cheddar provides the best cheesy flavor.
  • Original Bisquick mix – Or Homemade Bisquick.
  • Milk – Helps create a smooth batter.
  • Eggs – Here’s the best way to crack an egg!

Variations

  • Add taco seasoning to the ground beef for a Tex-Mex version.
  • Swap the cheddar cheese for Monterey Jack, Swiss, or pepper jack.
  • Stir in sautéed mushrooms or diced bell peppers for extra vegetables.
  • Use ground turkey instead of ground beef for a lighter option.
  • Add cooked bacon pieces for a bacon cheeseburger twist.
  • Top with diced pickles after baking for even more burger flavor.
