Spring is finally here! Birds singing, sun shining, flowers blooming and allergies in full force! If you’re like me, the welcome signs of spring are also the unwelcome signs of itchy eyes, scratchy throats and lots of sneezing. Definitely not how I want to spend my days. So, instead of being miserable, I reach for some natural remedies to bring relief to my seasonal allergies. These simple, all natural home remedies for allergies will help you, too!
I’m sharing #Ricola in my life as part of a Ricola sponsored series for Socialstars™
Here’s 5 Ways to Tackle Seasonal Allergies Naturally This Spring!
1.Shower – The best way to get rid of pollen and other allergens off your clothes and skin is to take a shower and change your clothes as soon as you come in from being outside for longer periods of time.
2.Neti Pot – They may sound scary, but a Neti Pot really can work! For allergies and stuffed-up sinuses, rinse your nasal cavity with a saline solution that will flush out allergens (like pollen) and loosen mucus.
3.Eat Local Honey – The jury is still out on this one, but it’s worth a shot! The theory is that by eating honey produced by bees in your region it can help reduce the allergen response in your body by building up your immunity to it. The bees transfer pollen from flower blossoms to honey, so if you eat a little honey each day you’ll gradually become immune to the effects of pollen.
4.Herbal Drops – If you suffer from an irritating cough or scratchy throat during the allergy season, there’s an easy way to get an extra drop of soothing relief. Just pop a natural Ricola herb drop. And drop it!
When you’re treating your allergies, Ricola is the extra drop of (allergy symptom) relief that soothes your itchy throat and cough. That’s because every Ricola drop has our Swiss Herb blend that goes to work to quickly and naturally relieve an itchy throat and cough caused by allergies. If you’re one of them, try popping a drop of Ricola. Ricola’s secret blend of 10 Swiss herbs can give your throat an extra drop of soothing relief! Find out more below!*
5.Eucalyptus Oil – Being a huge essential oil fan, this is one I use often, as well! Eucalyptus has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, which can help and the vapor provides a menthol-like sensation that can make breathing seem easier. Just add a few drops to a hot bowl of water and place your face (carefully and not touching) over the water and breathe in the vapors to clear your head!
With a few, simple home remedies, you can easily manage your allergy symptoms, naturally!
