Since starting the Clean Program, the challenge for me has been to not get bored with my food choices. You know, a plain lettuce salad gets old after a while…unless you’re my husband or his mother, or my 5 year old who could eat salad all day long, everyday. But, I didn’t get that gift of “wanting” to eat healthy. I love chips and dip, big ol’ juicy cheeseburgers and lots and lots of chocolate. So, eating on the Clean Program has been a challenge for me.

I’ve been having a smoothie that I whip up myself for breakfast. Almond Milk and blueberries are usually the base, while I try to add other ingredients such as, raspberries, kale, raw cacao, flax seed meal, and avocados. I have also been snacking on handfuls of healthy nuts throughout the day, like almonds and cashews. My lunches have consisted of grilled or baked chicken with a little olive oil and seasonings, brown rice, more salads, raw veggies, various beans and some fish. Dinner is usually a smoothie or another salad.

It’s been really hard for me to not have dairy products because I am a HUGE cheese and milk fan. I may or may not have grabbed a couple of bites of a cheese stick over the past 2 weeks. I think of it this way…a lot of the time when we are really craving something, and I mean REALLY craving, it’s our body’s way of saying that it needs that particular item. Does your body NEED Ice Cream and Doritos? No. Probably not. But, if it’s a healthy item choice, I think it’s OK. (that little bit of info is from me. NOT in the Clean book)

In the Clean book, there are many recipes that I have yet to try. There’s even an online support group with tons of recipes and manuals. I am excited to dive in and try something new and something my entire family will enjoy.

Do you have a super healthy meal that you and your family enjoy? Share with me!

This was so helpful to me! I am currently doing the Master Cleanse, then plan to start up the Eat Clean Diet. It’s so great to hear some suggestions, especially from a fellow cheese lover! I will have to check out the Clean program that you are doing.

oh man, that sounds like torture. Good luck with that. I don’t know if it’s super healthy but one dish that feels healthy for me is my salsa chicken. I need to redo the picture so it looks more appetizing http://3kidsandus.com/2009/spice-up-dinner-with-paces-bold-new-salsas/

My father just started such a program himself, like you wrote he is eating mostly salads,
having a hard time to give up on all the fried stuff.

I think that really the most important thing is to have the surrounding help you with it, and as long as they “brainwash” you, you won’t have a problem at all!
