We just had the most amazing Birthday Party for my now 6 year old, Ella! We invited all her little friends over for a Pajama Party! It was such a good time! We had the party in the evening from 4-7pm and it was just perfect. Just enough time to have a really great party!
When the girls arrived in their pajamas, they were greeted by a large cupcake wrapper #6 on the door. It was a great way to set the tone for the party. Lots of sweets awaited inside!
The sweets table was a huge HIT! We had Chocolate Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting, Rice Krispies, Chocolate Cake Pops, Mint Chocolate Cupcake Balls, and a Vanilla Cake with Buttercream Frosting that had 4 layers on the inside that matched the party decor – all made by yours truly! We even had Pink Lemonade in little mason jars with stripped straws. It was just adorable!
What’s really great about this party, is that I was able to use a lot of what I had around the house to decorate with. All of theย decorationsย with Ella’s name, picture frames, cake stands, sheets for the table, and the canopy all came from Ella’s bedroom.
I did make a lot of the decorations, like the poms, ribbon and name tags for the mason jars, all the cupcake and sweet table labels and signs.
Of course Ella wanted to add some character decorations to the party and decided on Tinker Bell after we saw some great decorations onย clearanceย at Target! Like mother, like daughter! It was all her idea, too! Love a good bargain!
For the party, we set up stations for the girls to go to: ย hair, nails and hairbow making. It worked out perfectly and kept everyone doing something at all times. We also served a dinner of pizza, chips and veggies, of course! What’s a pajama party without pizza?!
After that, we sang Happy Birthday to the birthday girl and let the girls have whatever they wanted off of the sweets table. Shhhhh…don’t tell their parents!
Next came, presents, games, and dancing! Who would have thought that a game of hot potato and freeze dance could be so much fun for a bunch of 5 and 6 years old?! But, it sure was! They were laughing andย gigglingย the whole time!
To end out the night, we put on a movie and popped popcorn for the girls to enjoy while they were waiting on their parents to arrive. But, I’ll say that after the full night we had, there wasn’t much waiting! It was a packed night full of birthday fun!
As the girls left, they were given these adorable homemade chocolate chip cookies in little bags with a “thank you for coming” label and a carton of milk. It was the perfect nightcap to a party full of sweets and fun!
I think that Birthdays are a time to celebrate a life and the blessing God gave to us and making that day extra special is important to me. This was so much fun and I am so thankful to everyone who helped celebrate Ella’s special day with us! She had a wonderful time!

So sweet! I love homemade parties and people rarely have them anymore. My daughter loves them. I’m going to tuck some of these ideas away for her next one. Great site!
