Well, I’m making progress in my living room. Little by little. To catch you up….
We’ve painted a few times and came up with this light Benjamin Moore Color.
Ahhh….bliss.
We’ve moved the furniture around and repurposed a bookshelf/turned toy storage into a media center….
Moved in my grandmother’s antique buffet from another room….
And now, I’ve given the media center a little makeover. It’s gone from this….
To THIS!
YES! I am excited about the subtle change a little paint has made. I painted the back of the bookcase with the green accent color I am bringing into the room along with the blue. One of the best things about this little makeover is that it was FREE! YES, FREE! Thanks to Ace Hardware and their free quart of paint Saturday – I was able to pick up the Benjamin Moore color they already had in their system – but in a quart of Ace’s Clark + Kensington paint. (pssst….I see that they are offering it again THIS Saturday!! Print out THIS coupon to get your free quart! I’ll be heading back for another!)
This makeover only took a couple of hours total. By using a brush to cut in along the edges and then rolling out the center of the panels with a little mini roller – it really added some personality to the room. I love how the color makes everything pop! It’s not a dramatic change, but just enough. I thought about painting it the blue color I am using in the room – but I wanted this color to be less dominate than the blue will be. I just love it!
What do you think?
Up next….filling those blank walls!
Looks great! I soooo wish I was as crafty as you!
OH Heather! I am sure you could be…it’s all about inspiration and trial and error. : )
