Whew…it’s been a busy week! Baking, birthday parties, snow storms…I’m worn out and I haven’t even left the house since Monday! haha!
If you follow me on Facebook (You do, right?! If not, you’re missing out!) you know that my baby girl turned 5 this past week! Yep…FIVE YEARS OLD! That is totally and completely insane to me. Just yesterday she was a little, sweet, chubby, (screaming!) newborn that needed mom’s love and attention all day long. Well, she still needs mom’s love and attention all day long…but is just a little bigger now.
She is the most bouncing, jumping, running, playing 5 year old I know…so I knew that a Bounce House Party would be awesome for her and that’s just what we did! 15 kids and their parents joined us for Ella’s party last week and man, oh man…did they have fun!
Ella is a huge, HUGE dog lover. She loves dogs more than anything else and really loves her own dog, Daisy. So, I decided to make, YES make, her a giant dog cupcake to look like her dog to go along with her dog theme party.
Not bad, huh?! I have never done anything like this before. I was shocked by how much it actually looks like Daisy!
I love to bake and love to be creative, so this was right up my alley! Now, I’m not going to lie. I had some doubts this wouldn’t resemble a pig. There were many times, leading up to the party, that I thought about just scrapping the whole idea and playing it safe by making just a big plain decorated cupcake. But, I didn’t. I enlisted my husbands help to make sure I was on track as I decorated and did it!
Looks at these adorable cupcakes I made to go with it. Those are Scooby Bone Graham Crackers on top. Cute, huh?!
OH and I also made these fun Cake Pops for Ella to take to school on her Birthday. Just call me Bakerella! They were a hit!
I would say that Ella was very happy with all the baked treats her mommy made for her on her birthday. It was fun and I’m ready for my next Cupcake Challenge!
It is crazy how Ella is 5 now. Every Yeah her birthday picture just looks so different from the year before. Those cupcakes look awesome! Now you can move down here to Florida and open a cupcake factory LOL.
You did an amazing job on all of it! So great!
You’re all too kind!! Thanks so much, Kathleen!!
Happy belated to your precious daughter! She must have been so excited! Love the puppy cake! 🙂
Thank you, Courtney!! It sure was fun creating it all!
Happy Birthday to Ella! You did a great job on the cake, it looks just like your cute doggie! I’m sure the kids talked about the cake pops at school for days!
Thanks, Julie! The kids really enjoyed all the baked treats! (and so did the adults!!)
Kasey! You are Super Mom! Those cake pops are the best idea ever! I’m going to have to get the decorating book (because I am the must uncreative person alive). =)
Haha! I don’t know about Super Mom, but I sure try to make Birthdays special. It is a special day, for sure!
You should try to make the Cake Pops…takes a little time, but I’m sure you can do it! You make up for being uncreative with your musical talent, tho. You rock!!
Kasey – you are my hero!! I am not a good baker at all. Maybe I can hire you out for Cole’s next cake…he always has big ideas 🙂
I am for hire, Jenny!! Getting ready to take orders for Valentine’s Day, as well!!
Great job, Kasey! It seems like just yesterday you were bringing Ella to mommy’s lunch at McDonald’s and now look at her! She’s adorable!! Your cake pops look great! I’ve made them before and they’re definitely trickier than they look!
Oh, I remember taking Ella to that outing well! It was the FIRST TIME I had ever taken her anywhere by myself and I was a nervous wreck!! I was so afraid she’d start screaming and embarrass me! LOL!
