I’ve loved the easy, breezy, light meals of summer, but if I’m being honest…I’m ready for some comfort food! I love when Fall comes and we can enjoy soups, stews, crock pot meals and casseroles full of rich goodness. I can’t help it.

I’m partial to our family favorite recipes that bring me back to being younger. One dish I loved growing up that my mom would make all the time, summer or fall, was Broccoli Casserole! It was always one of my favorites.

I still make it for my family. It’s a great dish to take to a family gathering or pot luck. Super easy and only a few ingredients, which makes this Broccoli Casserole theย perfect side dish for back to school nights!

I think one of the things that makes this dish so yummy is the cheese! I mean, who doesn’t LOVE cheese on their broccoli?! I think it’s a rule that you have to have cheese on your broccoli, whether it’s roasted broccoli or steamed broccoli. Period.
