Summer break is finally here! Thank goodness! I am so ready to be done with rushing around at night with dinner, homework, baths and bed – I’m ready for a little more relaxed pace and to enjoy some time together!

One of the things I started doing when my oldest was in preschool was to do a “End of School/Welcome to Summer” party on the last day of school. It’s always a surprise, but the kids always know it’s coming! This year I did a Pizza/Ice Cream party!

I decorated with all things ice cream – a hanging ice cream cone, fun summer table cloth (all from Target) and a centerpiece that consisted of ice cream cones! So fun! I bought a ton of toppings – M&M’s, sprinkles, marshmallows, gummy worms, butterfingers, and more! The kids were in heaven! I could hardly keep them from diving in before they had their pizza!

It wasn’t an elaborate planned party, but it was fun and certainly screamed “SUMMER”! The kids loved it and  I didn’t mind the yummy treats either!

  1. We did ice cream too! We started with balloons and streamers in the van when we picked up Hannah and then came home to make fun ice cream concoctions! LOVE that you got me started on this idea with your party last year!

This is such a cute idea. My kids still have a few days left of school, so maybe I can whip up something like this for mine too !

    1. I think you can do it! Just hit up the dollar store and grab some fun plates and napkins and lots of toppings with your ice cream! The kids will love it!
