Thanksgiving is the perfect time to reflect on what you are thankful for, and also to get together with family and friends. It’s a time of food, family and fellowship. Thanksgiving has always been one of my favorite holidays for the simplicity of the day. While I love Christmas, it seems there’s a lot more hustle and bustle surrounding it with finding the perfect gifts and activities going on.
Thanksgiving is a time to really just BE with family and friends. And eat, of course! I love to prepare a meal from the appetizers to the dessert. I also love to decorate and make our home inviting and warm. I love that when people come into our home that they always describe it as homey. To me that means comfortable and inviting.
This ย year we are in a new home and we haven’t had time to do much to personalize it, but I am starting in the kitchen. After all, it is the heart of the home and I am IN LOVE with this new space! I can’t wait to share it all with you! But today, I wanted to give you a couple of ideas for your own Thanksgiving table that will make your home feel beautiful, welcoming and inviting – easily! Here’s two ways to Create A Beautiful and Affordable Thanksgiving Tablescape that you’re sure to love!
Decorating your table with all things natural is a great idea for Thanksgiving. ย I just love the colors of fall – browns, reds, oranges ย – and they are perfect for bringing indoors.
A burlap table runner, wooden chargers, white plates and natural color napkins are a great staring point for your table. With those base colors, you can add in pretty much whatever accent colors you like. Plus, they can be used again and again, changing the color palate or decor each year!
Wooden trays are a great way to put together your centerpiece. I keep one on my table year-round and change out the items inside to reflect the season or holiday. Here I used a smaller pumpkin surrounded by mini gourds and pinecones from the yard. The whole centerpiece (including the tray that I bought on clearance last year) cost me around $15. You can’t beat that!
A cute way to personalize each guest’s seat is to tie little tags to mini pumpkin gourds and place in the center of the plate on the napkin. It easy and very festive.
Another great way to dress up your Thanksgiving table is to go Vintage.
I love vintage Mason Jars and use whatever reason I can to have them on display in my home. From my entry way to my mantle, you’ll find a Mason Jar when you come into my home.
Adding a round tray with Mason Jars of varying heights, filled with greenery from the store, adds a whole different look to your Thanksgiving table.
While we used the same burlap table runner, wooden chargers and napkins, we added in some more natural elements to change things up. This is definitely my favorite look for my table this year.
Personalizing your guests place setting is simple enough by tying a name tag right around a couple of sprigs of greenery with twine. It’s perfectly simple. Just like the rest of this table.
I could look at this centerpiece year-round. I love the way the light dances through the jars, making them almost glow. The greens and blues are perfect with the neutral table runner and place settings. I love it!
