It’s been almost a year since we moved into our home. I just LOVE this house! While we still live in the city, it feels like we live in the country. There’s tons of wildlife, it’s quiet and you can see every star in the sky at night! AND we live at the end of a cul-de-sac which is perfect for the kids to play! While it’s not a brand new house, it’s a NEW house to us that has almost everything we were looking for. AND I just realized that I haven’t shown you around yet! Well, we’ll have to do this in several posts, but here’s a start!

Thankfully, all the basics were completed when we moved in to our home. New paint, counters, cabinets and even flooring – which made a huge difference in all the homes we looked at before finding this one. So many houses would have fresh paint and even countertops, but the floors – they were pretty yucky most of the time and I knew they’d have to be replaced. Nice flooring makes a HUGE difference in a home! TIP: If you’re trying to sell your home, considering replacing the flooring OR at the very least, have it professionally cleaned. It will make your home stand out and I promise, sell faster!

This is our “school room” for the kids to do their homework in, create and drop off their things. It’s the perfect space!

I just love the floors in our home and would have probably picked them for myself if I went shopping for our home. From the plush carpet to the dark hardwoods, they really warm up the space and make it look modern and fresh! Everyone that comes in comments on how nice they are. And I don’t have to worry about a little dirt showing. The darker colors hide it for the most part. But I love them even more when the wood shines and the carpets are freshly vacuumed. Who’s with me? Doesn’t a freshly vacuumed floor just make the whole house feel clean??

Living Room right off the kitchen – not one huge room, but pretty open!

One of my favorite things to do is decorate and improve our home. I just feel that our home is our haven and should reflect comfort and security. And when you feel great from the moment you walk in – that’s a win in my book!

So far we’ve added a few things here and here – a backsplash, art and wall decor and even a throw rug or two. I’m ready to open a big can of white paint and start painting all this trim! But, that will come! Trim painting takes forever! Maybe I can talk my husband into that one!

Love this kitchen! You can see the living room right off of it. It works well!

So, in the meantime, I love to get inspiration, like these amazing photos from Shaw Floors. What a big difference beautiful flooring can make! And if you have a quality floor – it’s even better!
