- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp white sugar
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 3 apples cored and chopped
- 1 cup seedless grapes halved
- 1 cup celery chopped
- 1/2 cup walnuts chopped
- 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
Make the dressing with the mayonnaise, sugar, and salt. Set aside.
Core and chop the apples. Toss in the lemon juice to prevent them from browning.
Stir all ingredients together in a large bowl until combined.
Chill until ready to serve. This recipe is best served within a day of preparation.
- My favorite variation of this is probably the chicken Waldorf salad. Some chopped, grilled chicken makes this a light but filling meal. Another suggestion is using leftover turkey if you are serving it around Thanksgiving or Christmas.
