Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp white sugar
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 3 apples cored and chopped
  • 1 cup seedless grapes halved
  • 1 cup celery chopped
  • 1/2 cup walnuts chopped
  • 1/2 cup raisins (optional)

Instructions

  • Make the dressing with the mayonnaise, sugar, and salt. Set aside.
  • Core and chop the apples. Toss in the lemon juice to prevent them from browning.
  • Stir all ingredients together in a large bowl until combined.
  • Chill until ready to serve. This recipe is best served within a day of preparation.

Notes

  • My favorite variation of this is probably the chicken Waldorf salad. Some chopped, grilled chicken makes this a light but filling meal. Another suggestion is using leftover turkey if you are serving it around Thanksgiving or Christmas.
