- 1 lb broccoli florets trimmed and washed

Place a steam basket or colander into a large saucepan.
Add broccoli and enough water to cover the bottom of the saucepan.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat to simmer.
Cover with a tight fighting lid and simmer 5-8 minutes or until broccoli is tender-crisp when pierced with a fork.
- Wash off the head of broccoli, and trim off any pieces before steaming.
