Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • measuring spoons
  • Mesuring Cups
  • 9" Pie Dish

Ingredients

  • ½ cup flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • 2 Tablespoons Bourbon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 unbaked 9” pie crust

Instructions

  • Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Mix The Dries: In a large bowl, stir the flour, salt, sugar and brown sugar together.
  • Add the Wet Ingredients: Stir in the eggs and melted butter, bourbon and vanilla extract.
  • Add the Chocolate: Stir in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts. The batter will look like a wet cookie dough.
  • Bake: Place the unbaked pie crust on a baking tray then pour the filling mixture into the pie crust. Place the tray and pie into the oven to bake for 40 minutes. The pie will be golden brown around the edges and the center will no longer look wet. The pie will look like a baked cookie.
  • Cool: Let the pie cool for about 30 minutes at room temperature before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Cover the edges of your pie crust with foil or a pie shield during baking to prevent it from turning too dark while the filling sets.
  • Allow the pie to cool completely before slicing to give the filling time to set. Cutting the pie while it is hot will result in a gooey mess!
  • Buy walnuts that are already pre-chopped to save yourself a little time. Chopped walnuts are also often less expensive than whole nuts so you will save some money as well!
