Easy Christmas Fruit Salad

This easy Christmas fruit salad is made with fresh fruit and a light dressing. A festive, make-ahead holiday side dish everyone loves!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh mixed berries strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries
  • 2 cups red seedless grapes
  • 2 apples diced (use a mix of green and red apples for color)
  • 2 pears diced
  • 1 cup pomegranate seeds
  • ½ cup cranberries fresh or frozen, thawed
  • ¼ cup honey or maple syrup
  • 2 Tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish optional

Instructions

  • In a large serving bowl, combine the mixed berries, red grapes, diced apples, diced pears, pomegranate seeds, and cranberries.

  • In a separate small bowl, whisk together the honey or maple syrup, fresh lemon juice, and ground cinnamon until well combined.

  • Drizzle the honey or maple syrup mixture over the fruit in the large serving bowl.
  • Gently toss the fruit and dressing together until all the fruit is well coated.
  • If desired, garnish the Christmas fruit salad with fresh mint leaves for a pop of color.

  • Serve immediately, or refrigerate for an hour to let the flavors meld and develop. Give it a gentle stir before serving.

Notes

  • Keep the apples and pears from browning: The best way to prevent the browning of the apple and pear is to soak the diced pieces in salt water (half a teaspoon of kosher salt per cup of water) for 10 minutes. This is helpful if you are preparing the fruit ahead of making the salad.
  • Cut fruit into similar-sized pieces for even bites: This will make your fruit salad look nicer too!
