Easy Chocolate Waffles

These easy chocolate waffles are rich, fluffy, and easy to make with simple pantry ingredients. A perfect sweet breakfast or brunch treat!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 ¼ cups whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat the waffle iron. In a medium mixing bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  • Add remaining ingredients and stir to combine.
    2 large eggs, ½ cup vegetable oil, 1 ¼ cups whole milk, 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Spray the waffle iron with cooking spray and ladle the batter onto the iron. Cook according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Garnish with syrup, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, or fresh fruit.

Notes

  • To keep the waffles warm while you work through the rest of the batter, you can place them on a sheet pan in a 200ºF oven.
  • Hate soggy waffles? Set them on a wire cooling rack to keep the bottoms crisp before serving or storing.
