Baked Chicken Parmesan
The Best Baked Chicken Parmesan has a crispy coating made with Italian breadcrumbs and grated parmesan cheese, smothered in a store-bought marinara sauce and sliced mozzarella cheese for an easy dinner any night of the week!

- 4 chicken breasts boneless and skinless
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 4 tablespoons flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup Italian bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 23 oz jar of your favorite marinara sauce
- 4 slices mozzarella cheese
Preheat an oven to 425 degrees
Put the chicken breasts between two pieces of saran wrap or parchment paper and using a rolling pin or flat kitchen mallet - flatten each breast to 1/2 inch thickness then season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
In three separate bowls or small dishes add the flour to one, eggs to one (and beat until combined) and the Italian breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese to the other (and mix).
Dredge the chicken in the flour, then the egg and finally press it into the breadcrumb mixture.
Add the olive oil and butter to a cast-iron skillet on medium-high heat and cook the chicken for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown
Add the marinara to a 9x13 baking dish and top with chicken, Add a few tablespoons of marinara to the top of the chicken breasts and top with the mozzarella cheese slices.
Bake for 15 minutes or until chicken is 160 degrees internally
Serve the sauce and chicken breast over angel hair pasta and top with parmesan cheese
