This classic Southern tomato pie is packed with irresistible fresh tomato flavor. You have to give this recipe a try this summer.

Tomatoes Pepper Balsamic vinegar Garlic Basil Cheddar cheese. Mayonnaise Pie crust

Press your unbaked pie crust into a pie pan and fill it with pie weights. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove the pie weights and set the par-baked crust aside.

Place the tomato slices in a large colander. Sprinkle the tomatoes with salt, then let them sit. Toss the drained tomato slices with basil, cheese, vinegar, garlic, salt, and pepper.

Pour the tomato filling into the par-baked pie crust. Spread the mayonnaise over the top of the pie filling.

Bake the pie for 30 minutes. Let cool for about 20 minutes, then slice and serve.

With plenty of cheese, garlic, basil, and, of course, tomatoes, it will surely be a hit with your family.
