Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with cooking spray.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

  • In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.

  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the bowl, and beat until well combined.

  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips using a rubber spatula.

  • Spread the cookie dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cookie bars cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Storage: 
  • Store leftover cookie bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
  • Freeze the bars for up to 3 months. To keep them fresh, wrap each bar with plastic wrap or aluminum foil, and transfer them to a sealable bag.
