These apple dumplings combine tart apples with buttery pastry and a secret ingredient of Mountain Dew to make a melt-in-your-mouth bite.
Granny Smith apples Crescent dough Unsalted butter Brown sugar Vanilla extract Cinnamon Pinch of salt Mountain Dew
Cut the apples into eights and roll each slice into the crescent roll, starting at the wide end. Place the rolled apples into the baking dish and set to the side.
Combine butter and sugar. Add in the vanilla, cinnamon, salt and fully mix. Remove from the heat and pour it on top of the apple rolls. Add in the soda all around the edges of the baking dish. Do not pour it directly on top.
Bake the apples for 30-40 minutes, or until the apple tools start to look crispy and golden brown on top.
Serve while still warm and top with vanilla ice cream and extra sauce from the baking dish.
