Banana Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting is perfect for a party, celebration—or just because!

The tangy, rich frosting is oh-so-perfect with the sweet banana cake.

INGREDIENTS FOR THE CAKE:

Ripe bananas All-purpose flour Baking soda Baking powder Kosher salt Cinnamon Unsalted butter Granulated sugar Light brown sugar Eggs Vanilla extract Buttermilk

INGREDIENTS FOR THE FROSTING:

Cream cheese Unsalted butter Powdered sugar Vanilla extract

Whisk the flour, baking soda and powder, salt, and cinnamon in a large bowl.

Cream the butter and sugars together until they are light and fluffy.

Add the eggs and vanilla to the bowl and combine. Beat in the mashed banana.

Alternately beat in the dry ingredients and the buttermilk until just combined.

Bake for 45-55 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean.

Beat the cream cheese and butter in an electric mixer. Add the sugar and vanilla.

Put the frosting in the fridge for 20 minutes so it will be thickened when you frost the cake.
