Air Fryer Popcorn Chicken

Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, this easy Air Fryer Popcorn Chicken will quickly become a family favorite!

Ingredients

  • 1-2 pounds chicken breast cut into 1 inch pieces
  • ½ cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  • In a medium size bowl marinade the chicken in buttermilk, set aside
  • Combine in a separate medium size bowl garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and flour
  • In a small bowl whisk eggs
  • In another small bowl add the cornstarch
  • Remove chicken from buttermilk shaking off the excess milk
  • Roll chicken in cornstarch
  • Dip chicken into egg wash
  • Finally add chicken to flour mixture and coat well, shake off excess
  • Lightly coat air fryer basket with olive oil
  • Set Air Fryer to 390 degrees F and add chicken into basket
  • Cook for 5-10 minutes, depending on the air fryer, or until the chicken is no longer pink inside, shaking halfway through
  • Serve immediately

Notes

If they look a little floury at the half way mark spray them with a little olive oil to get them a little crispier
