One Bowl Banana Bread

This one-bowl banana bread recipe is the easiest banana bread you will ever make. It is rich with brown sugar, warm cinnamon, and lots of sweet, ripe bananas.

Ingredients

  • 3 overripe bananas
  • cup melted butter
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups flour
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspon baking soda

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and grease a loaf pan with butter.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mash the bananas with a fork until smooth. Try to smash all the large banana pieces, making it as smooth as possible.

  • Stir in the melted butter, brown sugar, egg and vanilla. Mix until the batter is thick and smooth.

  • Add the flour, cinnamon, salt and baking soda to the bowl and mix again.

  • Pour the banana bread into the prepared loaf pan then bake the banana bread for about 50 minutes. The top of the bread will be golden brown and the bread will be pulling away from the sides of the pan slightly. A toothpick inserted into the center of the bread will come out cleanly.
  • Cool the bread in the pan and then slice and enjoy!

Notes

  • Stir in ½ cup chocolate chips before baking to make a delicious chocolate chip banana bread.
  • 3 ripe bananas will make about 1 ½ cups of mashed bananas. If your bananas are very small, you may need an extra to get the 1 ½ cups of banana mash needed for the bread.
