Ingredients

Steak

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tsp dijon mustard
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire
  • salt & black pepper to taste

Gravy

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ medium onion diced
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 8 oz mushrooms sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter unsalted
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tsp dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire
  • Ssalt & black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • For the steak, add all ingredients to a large mixing bowl. Mix with your hands to thoroughly combine. Form (4) oval patties about ¾” thick.
  • Heat 3 tbsp of olive oil in a large sauté pan. When hot, add the steaks and cook for 4-5 minutes per side. Remove to a plate and set aside.
  • Add 1 tbsp of olive to the same pan over medium-high heat and add the onions and garlic. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until translucent.
  • Add mushrooms, season, and cook until browned, about 4-5 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to medium and add the butter. When melted, add the flour and cook for 3 minutes.
  • Gradually pour in the beef broth while constantly stirring with a whisk until thickened. Add Dijon, Worcestershire, and season with salt and pepper. If gravy looks too thick, add a little water to thin it out.
  • Bring gravy to a simmer and add the steaks to the pan. Continue to cook until the steaks are done, about 6-8 minutes.
