Chicken Divan is an elevated take on comfort food, with chicken and broccoli cooked in a creamy sauce and topped with a layer of crispy, buttery breadcrumbs!
- 1 lb fresh broccoli cut into florets (can substitute frozen broccoli)
- 2 cups cooked chicken breast cubed (rotisserie chicken is a great time saver!)
- 1 10.75 oz can of condensed cream of broccoli soup
- ½ cup sour cream
- ⅓ cup whole milk
- ½ cup cheddar cheese grated
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 tbsp breadcrumbs
Preheat the oven to 450F. Lightly grease a 13x9 inch baking dish and set aside.
Blanch broccoli in boiling salted water until cooked, about 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
Place the cooked broccoli in an even layer in an oven-proof baking dish. Top with the cubed cooked chicken.
In a medium mixing bowl, add the milk and cream of broccoli soup and stir to combine.
Pour soup mixture over the broccoli and chicken using a spatula to smooth. Top with grated cheese.
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Add the breadcrumbs and toast for 3-4 minutes. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs over the top of the baking dish.
Bake for 15-18 minutes or until bubbly and lightly browned.
