One-Skillet Creamy Tomato Italian Sausage Pasta
This One-Skillet Creamy Tomato Italian Sausage Pasta uses just a few ingredients that I bet you have in your pantry already. You won't have to pick up much at the store and I'm betting will cost you under $10 to make this dish
- 1 box of Barilla Penne Pasta
- 1 jar of your favorite Barilla Pasta Sauce - I used traditional here
- 1 packages of Johnsonville Mild Italian Sausage
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 green pepper cut into strips
- 1 small onion cut into strips
- 1 cup chicken broth or water
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup cream or milk if desired
- salt and pepper to taste
Brown the Johnsonville Mild Italian Sausage in your skillet with the olive oil. Add in the pepper and onions and cook until soft and sausage is done. Remove from skillet and drain off the excess grease.
Add pasta, sauce and water to the skillet. Bring to a boil and cover. Cook for about 12-15 minutes or until pasta is al dente.
Add back in the sausage and peppers and cook until heated through.
Add parmesan cheese and stir well.
Add in cream and stir well again.
That's it!
