Whether it’s to unplug your device and reconnect with your partner, a friend or a family member, you will love creating a work of art with Pinot’s Palette!
Thanks to Pinot’s Palette and Blog Meets Brand for sponsoring today’s conversation! And, thank you to All Things Mamma contributor, Melissa Mitchell of Sippy Cup Mom for enjoying this awesome evening out and sharing with us all!
I get to see my mom all the time, luckily. There’s no way I could be a work at home mama with three kids without her. She helps me whenever I need it whether it’s picking my kids up from school, watching them at home so I can get work done or watch my girls so I don’t have to drag them out in the rain while I pick my son up.
But as often as I see my mom, I hardly ever get to see her and talk about something besides the kids. When she’s with us, it’s all about my 3 kids usually – they love their Nana and take up a lot of her attention. When I do get to talk to my mom, it’s on the phone or through text. So when Pinot’s Palette invited me to come in for a fun night of painting and wine to Disconnect to Reconnect, I knew this would be the perfect activity to do with my Mom!
To book our night of fun, I just headed to the Pinot’s Palette website, found my local studio and checked out their calendar. There were so many fantastic paintings to choose from but when I saw the Van Gogh painting, I knew that would be perfect for my Mom and me to do – plus it was a 3-hour class instead of the normal 2-hour class giving us more time to reconnect!
When we arrived, our spots were waiting for us with our names drawn in chalk. There was also a blank canvas and all our supplies ready for us! Our instructor was so talented and patient with all of us! She started us out step by step with how we should start our Van Gogh painting. My Mom and I were both nervous – it was a beautiful painting but it looked tough. Our instructor gave us confidence and would keep walking by to check on us and give us pointers and compliments.
After our instructor got us started on a paint set, she turned up the music overhead and give us time to paint! I enjoyed this time because I was able to chat with my mom about stuff we normally don’t get to talk about – our favorite television shows, sports and more! It was so nice to just put the phones down and leave them down – except to take pictures of course!
When we were halfway done with our painting, we were able to take a 15-minute break. Our Pinot’s Palette had a bar with a variety of drinks to choose from. Painting and Wine – what could be a better night? We also took that time to walk around and check out all of the other paintings, grab more paint and chat even more.
As we got closer to the ending, I loved seeing my canvas actually turn into a real painting. My Mom – who usually has a very Type-A personality – actually enjoyed painting a Van Gogh painting and getting creative. We both agreed that we had so much fun disconnecting and reconnecting at Pinot’s Palette! I’ve already checked out the calendar for next month to find another painting for us!
National Day of Unplugging is being celebrated March 3 and 4 and Pinot’s Palette is the perfect place to celebrate it at. Whether it’s to unplug your device and reconnect with your partner, a friend or a family member, you will love creating a work of art with Pinto’s Palette!
