I love when October wraps up and we dive straight into the holiday season. In between holidays, we’re generally packed with get-togethers with our friends, my husband’s co-workers, and even some kid parties.
Let’s talk about those in-between days that fall between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Most families have lots of entertaining or traveling. I wanted to share some holiday hacks for those in between parties with friends and even family!
These hacks will help you to save a little time in the kitchen by taking a few shortcuts when it comes to whipping up your favorite holiday recipes.
The holiday season can bring a little chaos into our lives. With school programs, family gatherings, and holiday parties, it adds up.
Whether you want to host a fun night just for you and your family to spend quality time snacking and playing games or you want to have some friends over to connect with over the holidays, here are a few ways I cut some corners in the kitchen to allow me to stress less about the prep and spend more time with my guests once they arrive.
Must Know Holiday Hacks For Entertaining
Prep Ahead Of Time
I learned this years ago, prep ahead of time so when you are ready to entertain, you can enjoy your company.
Pick recipes that I can make ahead of time like my pumpkin cheesecake recipe, where I thoroughly prepare it then toss in the fridge until I am ready to serve.
I prefer to have my appetizers prepped, so I simply toss in the oven and they’re ready to serve hot and fresh. Utilize items like slow cookers to keep your food warm and you won’t have to babysit the stove.
While I love a homemade dessert, I also have found ways to dress up store-bought desserts to offer a personal spin. When I was at Meijer the other day I picked up a Sara Lee® Pumpkin Pie.
Then, followed the directions on baking the pie in the oven and allowed it to cool.
Next, I whipped up an easy no-bake cheesecake that I poured over the top and tossed in the fridge to chill until we were ready.
This was such a simple dessert that while the pie was baking, I was able to get around for our party with my husband’s co-workers. No one even knew the pumpkin pie was not from scratch.
The oven fresh Sara Lee Pumpkin Pie gives you that homemade taste, and that is why I buy this brand over and over again.
If you haven’t tried their pumpkin pie, add it to your holiday must-have list for your holiday entertaining!
To me, a tasty appetizer makes the party worthwhile. Those finger foods help satisfy the bellies in a fun and delicious way.
My favorite appetizers are simple to make and I’m sharing one of our all-time favorite holiday appetizer below.
Roll it up, stick a toothpick in them, and let those beauties bake till they are golden brown.
You get that savory and sweet all in one, and they are so simple to make.
I LOVE using Wright Brand bacon because it is wood smoked and thick cut. This bacon will give your bacon wrapped smokies added flavors, that can’t be beaten.
Trust me, these appetizers are addictive, and you will have to resist eating the entire pan.
Create a drink station that gives your guests everything they need. Have drinks on ice, so they have a chilled beverage, or leave all the fixings out so guests can whip up their drinks or pour over ice.
This will save you time from continually making drinks for your guests all night long.
As you can see, there are many ways to enjoy your favorite holiday season meals between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
We entertain through the months and these products help make all our family dinners and holiday parties a success.
Head to your local Meijer and buy these premium brands to complement your meal for crowd winning flavors!
