I would say that we eat dinner as a family at the kitchen table 5 out of the 7 nights of the week. The two nights we don’t eat together at the table are usually our busy nights where we’re eating at home at different times – but we always have something here to eat. But, what we don’t do is prepare the meal together. I’m usually the one making the meal but my husband jumps in there a night or two most weeks. So, when one of our absolute favorite companies, Pillsbury, sent us a kit to have a family pizza night, I thought it might be kinda fun!
Pillsbury provided the coupons for their pizza crust from the refrigerated section at the store – I chose the artisan whole wheat. They also sent me an apron and oven mit, a pizza cutter and a plate to put the pizza or ingredients on. FUN! So, I put on my apron, called the kids into the kitchen, suited them up with their own aprons and we got to work!
First you just unroll the dough and pre bake it for about 8 minutes.
Once that’s done, you just put on your sauce and toppings. We chose to use a tomato sauce, lots of veggies and mozzarella cheese. The kids loved putting the toppings on helping out! I think it really gave them a sense of being a part of the meal and they were really excited to eat it once it came out of the oven!
LOOK! It’s Pizza Parlor worthy! It was delicious! The crust had a wonderful flavor and had the perfect crispness and the toppings all cooked evenly.
I’m pretty sure our homemade pizza made with Pillsbury dough just took the place of our weekly takeout pizza order!
Thanks, Pillsbury for providing a fun Family Pizza Night for our household!
