Sometimes you just need the perfect sauce to bring a dish together, and this creamy dill sauce fits the bill for so many recipes. I love it with homemade salmon patties or smoked salmon, but it’s also a great alternative to tartar sauce for dipping fish sticks.

You can spoon this lemony dill sauce over baked fish fillets, but your options aren’t limited to seafood. It will amp up the flavor in mashed potatoes, or you can spoon it over baked or roasted potatoes. It would make a beautiful sauce for grilled chicken or lamb burgers, too, you can use it as a dip for cucumbers and celery, or try it on oven-roasted carrots.

So many possibilities here!

Lemon Dill Sauce Recipe

Not counting the salt and pepper, you only need 4 ingredients to make this dill sauce, and it’s the perfect way to use up dill you’re growing in the garden—or if you buy dill for another recipe and have leftovers sitting in the fridge. (Doesn’t that always happen with fresh herbs?!)

The dill is definitely the star of the show here, adding that one-of-a-kind fresh flavor to this sauce. This is balanced with the bright citrus flavor of lemon, and the tangy sour cream.

The dill sauce was delicious! I used dried dill( no fresh in the store) and bottled organic lemon juice. I tasted it and meh, but refrigerated it for several hours! Much more flavor.
