Well, you’re in luck because today I’m going to share a very IBS friendly recipe and let you know where else you can fine more!
So what can help? VSL#3 specializes in IBS and has solutions to help!
VSL#3, a high potency probiotic medical food that is clinically proven in the dietary management of IBS, ulcerative colitis and ileal pouch, is a proprietary formulation of a mix of 8 strains of live lactic acid bacteria, one of the few probiotics with this many strains. VSL#3 differs from other probiotics in that it is a “medical food”, not a supplement, and therefore must be used under medical supervision and kept refrigerated to maintain its potency.
VSL#3 has the recipe for a successful meal with a variety of IBS-friendly recipes to try out and share! I got a copy of their latest cookbook and found some wonderful recipes that anyone is sure to love! I decided to try out their Jalapeno Popovers with my family and they were a hit! I just know they’ll be a hit with your family! You can’t even tell that it has ingredients in it that would be considered IBS friendly and not your typical ingredients!
Try them out for yourself!
⅓ cup olive oil
⅔ cup lactose-free milk
1 ½ cup tapioca flour
⅔ cup Mexican blend grated cheese
½ tsp salt
½ tsp chili powder
1 Tbsp jalapeño pepper, seeded and minced (optional)
Preheat oven to 400º F.
Grease 18 mini-muffin cups with cooking spray and set aside.
Measure the egg, oil, milk, tapioca flour, cheese and salt into the bowl of a blender or food processor. Blend on high until the mixture is a uniform smooth consistency. Stir in the minced peppers. Divide the batter evenly into the muffin tins.
Bake for 15 minutes or until the popovers are puffy and golden brown. Remove them from the oven. As soon as they are cool enough to handle, turn the popovers out into a basket and serve warm.
