Christmas M&M Cookies Recipe

There are just so many cookies and cakes to try for the holidays! But, for today, I’m sharing a super simple Christmas M&M Cookies Recipe. I’d like to tell you that I made this for the kids, but truth be told, I’m a HUGE fan of these cookies! Christmas cookies with M&M’s are just one of my all time favorite holiday cookies.

There’s just something about the red and green M&M cookies that takes me back to my childhood and brings me warm fuzzies. I like to add chocolate chips, too. I mean, how could MORE chocolate be bad? No way!

These are the best holiday cookies because they’re fast and festive. The will look fantastic on your holiday cookie tray and you can make a huge batch in just minutes. The flavor is delicious, too! You might want to plan on making a double batch because, these easy Christmas M&M cookies tend to disappear pretty quickly.

Ingredients for Christmas M&M Cookies

  • Butter – Use unsalted butter for baking.
  • Flour – All-purpose flour is the best! If needed a 1:1 gluten-free all-purpose flour can be substitued.
  • White sugar
  • Brown sugar
  • Large Eggs
  • Vanilla extract
  • Baking soda – This is what gives the cookies that fluffy texture.
  • Salt
  • Red & green M&M’s – You can find Christmas M&M’s in any grocery store around the holidays. One large bag has about 1 1/2 cups of M&M’s which is enough for a batch of Christmas cookies and a few left over for a snack.
  • Chocolate chips – You can’t go wrong with extra chocolate chips in cookies! I like to use semi-sweet chocolate chips but any kind will work.

How To Make Christmas M&M Cookies

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Grease a baking sheet, and set it aside.
  2. Whisk the dry ingredients: Combine the flour, baking soda, salt in a small bowl.
  3. Mix the wet ingredients: Beat the butter, sugars, and vanilla in a large bowl until smooth and creamy. Add the eggs one at a time, scraping down the sides in between.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients: Slowly add the dry ingredients to the bowl of wet ingredients, beating just until combined. Then, gently fold in the M&Ms and chocolate chips.
  5. Portion: Use a tablespoon or cookie scoop to portion the cookie dough, rolling it into balls. Place the cookie dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little bit of space in between each piece.
  6. Bake: Transfer the cookies to the preheated oven, and bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until they’re puffy and the edges are golden brown.
  7. Cool: Allow the Chirstmas M&M Cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Delicious and good. I just ate 3 with coffee. I will definitely make again. I used chocolate chunks instead of the chips
