This week I wanted to share the diaper changing area. It’s actually one of my favorite spots in the room. The changing table was originally a dark, espresso color that we used in Andrew’s room. But, that wouldn’t go with my plan – so instead of buying a new one, I decided to paint it white to match the crib and it turned out beautifully! To transform it to match the room, I started out by using a spray paint primer and then spray painted it white and sealed it with a spray paint sealer. The finish is flawless and you can’t tell it was a dark brown before. Perfect and budget friendly for only $15!
I added baskets I had on hand on the shelves below for diaper supplies, books and stuffed animals. Sydney will eventually be able to get the books and toys out on her own and use in the little chair that was once used by me as a little girl to sit and read a story in.
Above the changing area on the wall is an adorable bird and nest branch decal from Simple Shapes. It was a breeze to put on and it makes all the difference in turning a plain wall into something beautiful and whimsical. Simple Shapes offers a variety of decals for all of your home’s walls. Check them out here!
This little area is simple and perfect for what I need. I could have used a dresser with a changing pad on top, but decided to put the dresser in another area of the room that works better. I’ll share that project later. For now, this works for us and I’m loving the clean look of it all.
Check back next week as I share another area of Sydney’s nursery!
