It’s easier than you think to have your own mini spa right in your own bathroom.
I’m sharing my favorite tips I use for creating a spa-like bathroom in my home that you can easily and affordably create in your own home, too!
6 Tips for Creating A Spa-Like Environment In Your Own Bathroom
Light Colors: One of the easiest ways to ensure a spa-like bathroom environment is to use light, calming colors. Blues, greens, and even white are no-fail colors to go with. I like to use fluffy white bath and hand towels in our bathrooms, too.
They are easy to keep bright and white with bleach, and they look so nice! Even adding a nice white rug is perfect for creating a relaxing and clean feel.
Clutter: Remove all clutter from your bathroom. I don’t know about you, but clutter causes a little anxiety in my life. So if I want a nice calming space, I get rid of all visual clutter. Only leave out the items you use daily and store the rest in a linen closet, in drawers or under the sink.
Storage: While you’re getting rid of clutter, decide what items you’d like to have out that get used the most. Glass jars, baskets, and wire containers are perfect for holding anything you use often and are quite affordable to buy.
I only leave out a few things on the counter that I use often. I like to use baskets and containers for all of my brushes, makeup, hair products, and toilet paper. And the bonus is they serve as pretty decor, too! Walmart has several very affordable options for all of these items!
You’ll have a hard time not picking up MORE than you need! But, really…can you have too many containers?! I think not!
Soft Materials: Adding fluffy towels, bath rugs, robes and a nice shower curtain is a great way to add a little bit of luxury to your bathroom. Also, having a really nice toilet paper is essential! Quilted Northern Ultra Plush® is known for its soft feel, with 3 silky soft layers that are both cushiony and absorbent.
I even use it for removing my eye makeup, which requires extra softness around my eyes. Quilted Northern is 3x more absorbent and 3x thicker than the leading value brand. It’s the ultimate comfort for a luxurious experience.
The 4-in-1 Mega Roll is four times bigger than their regular roll so you can worry less about changing your toilet paper roll, too!
You can get the best prices on Quilted Northern at Walmart. Make sure to shop there so you can use the extra money you save on MORE bath items to create your own spa-like retreat!

Scents: Spas are well known for smelling so good! Add a little light, fresh scent to your own bathroom by adding candles, reed diffusers and even bath salts and bombs to containers.
One of my favorite tips is to add a few drops of lavender and lemon essential oils to the inside of the toilet paper roll. You get a nice fresh smell each time you use it!
Bath Products: What’s a spa without luxurious bath products? Add pretty containers of bath salts, bath bombs, lotions and scrubs to your bathroom for the ultimate relaxing bath experience! They look pretty and smell amazing!
And when you use them in your bath—heaven! You don’t have to spend a ton of money either!
Grab a bag of $5 Epsom salts at the store and make your own! Add 1 cup Epsom salts, several drops of your favorite essential oils (lavender, rosemary, and vanilla are great choices!), and 1/4 cup fractionated coconut oil to a bowl. Mix well!
Place in a glass jar to store, and add a scoop to your bath water. You’ll relax in no time!
Creating a relaxing spa-like bathroom is easy and affordable with a few simple steps!
