I have been washing my hands like crazy lately to keep from getting any of the yuks going around and I’ve been having the kids do the same. Needless to say we’re going through a lot of soap and my hands are drying out from all the chemicals and junk in it. So, I thought I’d try my shot at making my own foaming hand soap. My kids love the foaming kind and I rarely buy it because I feel like it runs out sooner than the normal liquid soap refills. So, I decided to make my own DIY All Natural Foaming Hand Soap at home!

DIY All Natural Foaming Handsoap

I found this recipe on the doTERRA Essential Oil blog and it’s super quick, inexpensive and smells amazing! For my essential oil, I used my On Guard Protective blend and changed the recipe up a bit. Hey…we need all the protection we can get right now! (Check out my post on all the ways we’re using it and more!)

The next time I make it, I’ll use either doTERRA’s Citrus Bliss  or Purify. Citrus Bliss  smells dreamy! Kinda like a creamsicle and has amazing mood lifting properties. Purify smells clean and uplifting. I really get the minty, cilantro smell from it. Both are scents I diffuse regularly in my house. Whatever you decide, I’m sure it’s going to smell amazing!

Here you go!

DIY all natural foaming hand soap with 4-ingredients!

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons liquid castile soap – I used the mild baby soap
1/2 teaspoon Fractionated Coconut oil
1/2 teaspoon aloe vera gel
10 drops essential oils of choice – we used On Guard
Foaming hand soap pump – I reused one I had on hand

Directions:

Pour all ingredients into pump.

Slowly add distilled or tap water to fill the bottle.

Shake.

Enjoy!

See…that wasn’t so bad! I also made Hand Sanitizer for the kids to take to school. Keeping them oiled up to keep away the yuks! I’ll share that next week!

Have a great weekend!

I love this recipe. I gave away all of my Bath and Body Works soaps. This recipe leaves my hands feeling clean but also a little dry. Could I add some Vit. E or another oil like jojoba or evening primrose oil to make it a moisturizing soap. How much would I add? Just wondering if it would still foam.
    Thanks, Sherry

This is awesome! I am not too good of a diy person but this seems easy enough. Might even save money in the long run. (Visiting from Sits Tribe Building)

    1. It’s not too hard! Give it a shot and save a few bucks. Thanks for stopping by!

This is great, I LOVE homemade household recipes. I can’t use many hair and body products because of my coconut allergy (contact allergy) so I make mine with olive oil bar soap and water. I do want to experiment with adding essential oils though.

    1. I bet olive oils would be great in this! It’s so moisturizing, too! Try some essential oils in your recipe next time. I love them! (as you know! haha!!)
