Weight loss is hard. I’ve struggled my entire life with my weight and it continues to be a battle. I wasn’t blessed with skinny genes and a great metabolism – I’ve tried every “lose weight quick” plan and they never work for long.

What I have found to work for me for losing weight is eating small portions and cutting out all the junk – cookies, cakes, chips, fried foods, most dairy, and grains – MOST of the time.

How To Lose Weight Fast

If you eat right 95% of the time, you can have some of the “junk” every once in a while, in moderation. I don’t mind eating nachos and cheese with chicken wings and beer on a Saturday night when I know that I’ve eaten really well all week.

And, I’ve found that I don’t need to eat nearly as much because I have had smaller portions all week long. When it would have taken me half a plate of nachos and 8 chicken wings before to feel satisfied (and even overly stuffed) now, I’m eating 3-4 wings and a few helpings of nachos. I don’t over gorge myself and I don’t feel guilty after. It’s a WIN!

People can’t believe it when I tell them that I’ve lost close to 50 pounds without exercise in about 3-4 months. But it’s true! I’m starting to add walking and jogging back in with the hope that these last 20 pounds or so come off easily to my goal. Who knows, I may keep going! But, I think with losing 20 more pounds, I’ll be quite happy with how I feel, how my clothes fit and how I look at myself in the mirror. I’m actually pretty happy now, but there’s more weight around my middle than I’d like.

It’s a great feeling to not have one thing in your closet fit because it’s way too big. I’ve never had that problem before, but do now. I am shopping for clothes because my clothes look huge on me and that’s a good problem to have!

So what am I eating? Well, it’s a pretty short list. I’d love to tell you it’s all kinds of fun and exciting recipes with ingredients you can only find at specialty stores. But, it’s not. It’s just normal, everyday food.

What I Eat To Lose Weight Fast

Here’s a typical day for me:

Breakfast:  I normally have a big glass of water to start my day and then drink NOW Fruits and Greens. It’s full of vitamins and probiotics to start my day off right. I then have black coffee (I’ll grab a Starbucks Coffee with Cream every once in a while, too) and a piece of Oat Bran Toast with either Kerry Gold Butter or peanut butter. I have this pretty much every day. It fills me up and keeps me going! If I’m in a hurry, I grab a Cliff Bar that doesn’t have chocolate in it because then I find that I want more and more chocolate all day. Sometimes I’ll have scrambled eggs, too.

Snacks:  I snack on nuts all day. I love raw almonds or peanuts. And I especially love the Protein Nut Blend from Target. It fills me up!

Lunch:  Lunch is pretty small for me, too. I usually have Triscuits and cheese. I know that a lot of people say don’t have cheese on diets. But, I love cheese and it’s full of protein and fills me up. So, I have it. I will also smash up some avocado and eat it on my Triscuits, too.

Dinner: I usually have salads. I love a big salad full of veggies and grilled chicken. I also add hamburger (taco meat) and steak to my salads sometimes. YUM! For dressing, I mix up some balsamic vinegar and either NOW Avocado Oil or Almond Oil in a small mason jar and shake it up. It’s full of good for you fats and tastes good! I also have whatever my family is eating sometimes – so if it’s spaghetti, I will have a small portion with my salad. Or if it’s tacos, I put all my stuff on a salad. And on the weekends, if we go out, I’ll eat whatever fun appetizer my husband and I want to get – I just don’t eat a ton of it.

Water: I drink A LOT of water. It’s so important to stay hydrated and push all the toxins out of your body to help you be healthy and lose weight. I fill up my stainless steel tumbler all day long. It says cold and it’s easy to take with me on the go!

That’s about it! Nothing exciting or crazy. Just simple and good for you.

3 Tips To Lose Weight Fast

1. Eat smaller portions:  Cut your portions way down. After a while, you’ll get used to it and it will take less to fill you up.

2. Cut out the junk:  Stop eating the junk. I know how much you want it. I know how good it is. But, stop. It seriously makes a big difference.

3. Water: Drink a lot of water. All day long. Don’t fill up on sugary drinks and soda. They’re not good for you and do nothing to help your progress. Water does.

Losing weight is hard but can be done! I’m still working on it. Seeing the pictures of me from just 6 months ago is tough for me. I didn’t like the way I felt, how my clothes fit or how I looked. Even though I tried everything possible to lose weight and ate extremely healthy, nothing worked for me until I cut down my portions sizes A LOT and cut out all the junk.

Now, I don’t even want to eat a ton. It makes me feel bad when I do. So, I don’t even want to.

71 yr. old woman battling weight loss. Let me say this one thing…One diet plan doesn’t fit all it seems. I would never go on Nutrition System or any of those already prepared foods for nothing. I want to know what goes into my recipes. Next, this is the most exasperating issue for me. Had a gastric bypass (1998) lost 100 lbs. and left with leaky gut syndrome and assimilation issues. You buy into these programs and then you get told we are not doctors and cannot most of the times answer your questions, so what does a woman DO! I need a personal coach, not an app as I am not good with electronics and don’t want to have to go out and buy another phone. On a budget somewhat. My body has been through a lot of trauma, surgeries, missing parts and am not able to do certain exercises. So can you suggest with this MOON program, where do I get started? Is there a real person I can speak with and see if they can help me? I see where they have a 14 day trial, but I still need a person to work with one-0n-one. You look great. If I loose 50 lbs. I would be so happy. I don’t just want to loose water, but fat and keep it off. Thank you. Judy in VA
