Thank you to Tum-E Yummies for sponsoring today’s post! My kids can’t get enough of them!

I carry the title of soccer mom, dance mom, baseball mom, football mom, basketball mom—you name a sport—I’ve been it! Being a team mom is a year-round job at my house.

With sports come plenty of practices and games in all kinds of weather, which means it’s easy to get overheated. Staying hydrated is very important, especially when you’re active!

Four Ways to Cool Kids Down After Sports

I am always encouraging my kids to drink more. The prime time to make sure your kids rehydrate is after playing sports, and if they already feel thirsty, then they are already dehydrated.

They can become hot especially when the weather is humid and temperatures are high, so it’s even more crucial (and easy!) to get kids cooled down after sports with a few simple tricks I’ve learned along the way.

1.  Flavored Water Drinks

Of course this seems like a no-brainer, but a lot of kids “forget” to drink water throughout the day. One way to make it more fun (and easier to remember) for kids is by giving them flavored water drinks like Tum-E Yummies. My kids don’t mind drinking up because the different flavors are so delicious! From Sour-sational Raspberry and Orange-arific to Very Berry Blue, Greentastic Apple or Fruitabulous Punch, there’s an option for everyone.

2. Dry Clothes

Getting kids into dry clothes when they’re all sweaty and hot can help kids cool down. Make sure to keep an extra set of clothes in their gym bag and also in the back of your car. They’ll come in handy for sure!

3. Cooling Towel

Cooling towels are made of special material that stays cool when wet. They’re great to wrap put on the back of kids’ necks to cool them down fast!

4.  Healthy Snacks

I love to keep snacks on hand for my kids so they can eat before and after practices. Vegetables such as cucumbers and carrots contain lots of water, so they make a perfect snack for staying hydrated!

Getting kids to cool down after sports isn’t that hard to do, but it’s so important. Make sure to always be prepared by packing a bag with all the items I mentioned above to be ready after an extra hot practice or game. Kids will be cooled down in no time.
